Hatchers Artist interview | January 2020 | Full interview here
Very excited to be a member of the Year 6 Cohort of New Inc at the New Museum; the world's first museum led art and tech incubator. I'll be there for the year working with my collaborator, Maria Kozak, building an AR project.

"The artworks in this show are predicated upon a shifting ground. What happens to the substrate and the materials attached to it? Is it a crust that can be built atop or layered beneath? Is it flat or round? Does it torque in space? This shell is a site for reimagining form, for hiding material, or for concealing a different content. Each artist reaches at least one step beyond the surface."

I'm participating in SPRING/BREAK Art Show with a VR piece and painting, and co-curated a room titled 'Rigid Body' with the artist Maria Kozak, which speaks to this year's theme; A Stranger Comes to Town. Come see us!

One of my VR pieces will be exhibited at "The Art of VR" at Sotheby's in NYC, June 22 and 23rd, 2017. The festival celebrates the convergence of art and technology.
A few photographs taken inside my VR paintings will be on view in the exhibition "Fractured Body" at FAB Gallery, University of the Arts, Tirana Albania If you're in the area; Opening April 3, 2017.
Inside, we found a relaxing atmosphere full of diverse works, and were first drawn into the gaze of tanning ladies from Peter Mendenhall Gallery (California) and the submissive and subliminal messages within a work presented by Cardoza Fine Art (Houston). From there, we saw strokes of brilliance in Giant Summer and Giant Summer II by Jane La Farge Hamill, She Knows by Howard Fonda, and the newly famed piece that was recently published in The New York Times’ “Sunday Review” by Dan Gluibizzi titled Now Wait—all presented by FMLY(NYC).

Rose is a Rose
Curated by Kara Brooks

Robert Savage and Nanette Lepore, cofounders of the fashion house Nanette Lepore, are pleased to announce Rose is a Rose. The show is the inaugural exhibition that will launch Lepore Savage Gallery: an alternative gallery space showcasing contemporary art in the couple’s West Village townhouse.

Curated by Kara Brooks, with assistance from Molly Krause, Rose is a Rose features eight New York-based contemporary artists whose work reimagines classical iconography and style through themes including still life and portraiture. The concept is informed by Lepore and Savage’s eclectic permanent collection, select works of which will be on display among the exhibition’s contemporary selections.

Rose is a Rose will present works from Sebastian Blanck, Lori Field, John Gordon Gauld, Jane Lafarge Hamill, Caitlin Karolczak, Sarah Kurz, Andre Ribuoli, and Lena Viddo.

On view Saturdays and Sundays through November 1.
